A Journey Rooted in Sacrifice

Sanjiv recalled taking Vaibhav for cricket coaching in Samastipur, facing financial hardships to ensure his son’s dream stayed alive.
Age Controversy Sparks Debate
Despite the achievement, controversies regarding Vaibhav’s age have emerged, with some alleging he is 15, not 13. Addressing these claims, Sanjiv stated: that Vaibhav underwent a BCCI bone test at 8. He has already played for India U-19. We are ready for any age verification test again.”
Impressive Trials Led to the ₹1.10 Crore Bid
Vaibhav’s selection was no fluke. During trials with Rajasthan Royals in Nagpur, he showcased his talent by scoring 17 runs in an over. Batting coach Vikram Rathour witnessed his powerful hitting, including eight sixes and four boundaries during the trials.
The auction saw Delhi Capitals initially bidding ₹30 lakh for Vaibhav, but Rajasthan Royals outbid them with ₹1.10 crore.
Father’s Caution Amid Sudden Fame
For a teenager, such a massive amount can be overwhelming. Sanjiv expressed his intent to shield his son from financial distractions: He only wants to play cricket. A few years ago, he loved Doremon; now it’s all about cricket.
Bihar Cricket Association’s Support
